Mary-Claire demonstrates how to plant a red-gum sapling to Scouts SA volunteers

With the help of many little hands, we planted over 150 trees to create a future food source for the furry residents of Cleland Wildlife Park.

Adults and kids alike were excited to get their hands dirty this April 17th to provide a future food source for the Koalas at Cleland Wildlife Park. All together we planted 150 trees! With over 800 trees already planted at Woodhouse Adventure Park, our local Koalas can look forward to a secure food source for years to come.

Koalas eat up to 1kg of eucalyptus leaves each day, so creating a high-quality and sustainable food source is vital for their survival. Our Partnerships Manager, Mary-Claire, demonstrated to our volunteers how to plant red-gum seedlings and install two layers of tree guards to protect against browsing pressure from rabbits, wallabies and kangaroos.

Thank you to our incredible partners on this project: Koala Life, One Tree Per Child, HVP Plantations, State Flora, and Scouts SA.

Arborgreen is the proud founding partner of One Tree Per Child. This foundation was established by Oliva Newton-John and Jon Dee, the original founders of Australia’s highly successful ‘National Tree Day’. One Tree Per Child’s mission is to get every child to plant at least one tree before they leave school – something we can really get behind!
