Ready. Set. Grow!

Getting Started

In each planting box you will find the following items:

  • A dehydrated soil disk
  • Packet of native seeds with a few randomly selected seeds ( including Kangaroo Paw, Swan River Daisy, White Strawflower, Purple Flag, Billy Button, Everlasting Dwarf Mix, Pink Everlasting, Golden Everlasting).

Planting your Seeds

Step 1

In addition to your Arborgreen Planter Box you’ll need a pair of gloves, a mask, a saucer and some water. On a flat and sturdy surface, place everything in front of you, within comfortable reach.

Step 2

With your mask and gloves on, place the soil disk on the saucer and pour 35ml of water on top of it. Watch it expand before your eyes! Once risen, separate the soil disk with your fingers.

Step 3

Place the soil into your pot then carefully make a 5mm deep hole for your seeds  on top. Next, top up your pot with the remaining soil disk and press it down gently.

Remember, each seeding is unique. It can take up to three weeks from unpacking your seedling to see the first signs of sprouting. Sit tight!

Watch it grow!

Here comes the exciting part – your seed has sprouted! There are some golden rules to follow during this first sprout stage to ensure your seedling blooms into a healthy and thriving plant.

Step 1

Your seedling needs sunlight and water in order to grow.

Step 2

It’s important to check that the separated soil in your pot is not too dry or not too damp. You want it just right! If it is light in colour and appears dusty, give it a little drink of water. If it’s wet to the touch, don’t give your seedling anymore water.

Step 3

Check on your seedling every day to make sure it’s hydrated. Before you know it, it will begin to sprout up.

Repotting

Your seedling has grown from strength to strength and is ready to find a new home! This is the fun and creative part. You’ll need your seedling, some potting mix and a new (and larger) home for your plant. This could be a pot or an upcycled household item.

Step 1

Wearing a mask and a pair of gloves, fill your plant’s new home with soil/potting mix. Leave just a bit of space at the top for your seedling.

Step 2

Using your fingers, make a well in the soil and place your seedling in. There’s no need to remove your seedling from the original pot – you can repot the whole lot! Top up with soil/potting mix and ensure the base of your seedling is now completely covered.

Step 3

Give your plant a good drink of water.
